Robert W. Zahara and Whispering Ridge Community Schools welcome new assistant principals

Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) is happy to share that Robert W. Zahara School (RWZ) and Whispering Ridge Community School (WRCS) will welcome new assistant principals for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Mrs. Kasia Pfefferle will join the team at RWZ, while Mrs. Caroline Wheeler will move into the administrative role at WRCS.

Kasia PfefferleSince joining the Division in 2007, Mrs. Pfefferle has worked in several roles. She began her PWPSD journey at Rycroft School then moved to Harry Balfour School and Whispering Ridge Community School. Over the last two years, she has worked as the Inclusive Coach supporting Robert W. Zahara School, Sexsmith Secondary School, Bezanson School, Ridgevalley School, and Teepee Creek School.

Mrs. Pfefferle says she is excited about the opportunity to join RWZ as Assistant Principal. “Since supporting RWZ, I have truly come to appreciate the incredible staff, students, and the welcoming culture that makes this school such a special place.” She adds she has felt a strong sense of connection to the RWZ community and the meaningful work happening within the school, and is looking forward to being a part of it.

Caroline WheelerMrs. Caroline Wheeler joined PWPSD in 2011 as a teacher at Hythe Regional School. Since then, she has spent time teaching at WRCS and Peace Wapiti Academy. Mrs. Wheeler recently completed her Master of Education in Literacy at Queen’s University and is an active member of PWPSD’s practice-based professional learning cohort. As part of this cohort, and with a focus on assessment, she has spent time leading divisional professional development days sharing her knowledge with other PWPSD staff.
