PWPSD’s Trustee McIntosh awarded PSBAA’s Special Contribution to Public Education

DanaPeace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) is excited to share that Trustee Dana McIntosh has been awarded the Public School Boards' Association of Alberta’s Special Contribution to Public Education at this year’s Spring Assembly.

The Special Contribution to Public Education award is presented to a Public School Board, Trustee(s), Senior Administration, or member of the public and with Trustee McIntosh’s nearly 20 years as a board member Board Chair Lori Grant was pleased to nominate her for the honour.

In her nomination submission, Board Chair Lori Grant states, “In her six-year role as Board Chair, in addition to all the duties that fall on a Board Chair, which Trustee McIntosh performed in an exemplary manner, she led the Board through the retirement of one superintendent and the on-boarding of a new one. Her ability to form strong working relationships with both superintendents, along with her talent to provide an incredible level of context to all parties helped the transition process tremendously.”

Trustee Grant goes on to say that, Trustee McIntosh has advocated for and supported partnerships with other local school authorities to ensure we have similar school year calendars, thus allowing opportunities for school administrations to collaborate in areas such as professional learning days and transportation agreements.

Trustee McIntosh joined the PWPSD Board in 2004, and served as Board Chair from 2014 to 2019, and during the 2021-2022 school year. She has spent over 30 years working and volunteering with the Division, and PWPSD is honoured to have her at the table.
