Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) is excited to announce Mrs. Maryanne Buck and Ms. Brooke Prince as new Assistant Principals of Harry Balfour School and Sexsmith Secondary School respectively.
Mrs. Maryanne Buck says she is excited to embark on a new journey with the administrative team at Harry Balfour School. “I know Harry Balfour School has a well-established school culture and excellent community, and am looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and getting to know the Harry Balfour families.” Mrs. Buck has worked for PWPSD since 2016 and has held various roles at Penson School and Whispering Ridge Community School, where she is currently Assistant Principal.
Ms. Brooke Prince began her PWPSD journey as a student attending Wembley Elementary School, Helen E. Taylor School, and Beaverlodge Regional High School. Since 2007, she has taught at Penson School and Peace Wapiti Academy. Ms. Prince says she is ready for the new challenge of becoming an administrator. “I have had the opportunity to collaborate with, or have worked with, several of the Sexsmith Secondary teachers, and am excited to be part of their learning community.” She says since growing up in a small town and attending rural schools, she has acquired a fondness for schools where everyone knows each other’s names.
Mrs. Buck and Ms. Prince will begin in their new roles this fall.
