Starting in September 2023, more Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) students will qualify for transportation to and from school. On March 14, the Province announced that the walk limits would be lowered to 1 km and 2 km for students in Kindergarten-Grade 6 and Grades 7-12 respectively.
The new walk limits, down from the current 2.4 km regardless of grade, will allow more students to ride the school bus for free. Students in Grades 7-12 who reside between 1 and 2 km from their school and who wish to ride the bus may be eligible, subject to a fee and space on the bus.
