April 22 is Earth Day. According to the Earth Day website, more than 1 billion people in 192 countries now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world. We invite you to do your part on Earth Day, like the recent community clean-up events by students and staff of Bezanson School and Robert W. Zahara Public School (pictured). Many PWPSD schools participate in spring clean-up events to help restore their place on earth, in addition to learning about our impact on the earth and what we can all do to keep it healthy.
“It is up to each and every one of us to Restore Our Earth not just because we care about the natural world, but because we live on it. We all need a healthy earth to support our jobs, livelihoods, health and survival, and happiness. A healthy planet is not an option – it is a necessity.” – Earth Day website
